a month has passed since i departed sg for sweden. it's been enjoyable thus far and before long i will be back in sg! haha..let's see..what happened in the past week. there was the dinner with the spanish amigos, clubbing at cleo, going to storheden and going to the 2nd hand shop at coop arena.
11th: after lessons, we set off for this place called storheden in search of this shop Myrorna! the place sells 2nd hand stuff and ah kai managed to get a pair of good looking skates for 90kr! what a steal i must say. add on to that he also got another pair of shoes for 50kr. haha. shoe addict! then we went to the giant willys beside Myrorna and went on a grocery spree as usual. finally i saw my nutella! bought 2 bottles to stock up and also this 1kg cornflake which alan bought 3 weeks back. haha eat until bonkers. then for the first time we bought fish in sweden! 30kr per packet and each packet contained 5-6 pieces. it's crazy, the amount of hand carry we had after we exited from Willys.
12th: a long and crazy day of lessons. 3 lessons in a row! from 1015-415pm. haha that is short compared to ntu but hey, we're in sweden! haha!! furthermore it's extra torturing when we cannot understand what the teacher is going through. frustrating day at class. the only relief was coming back to hostel and dashing straight out to COOP arena. that's the indoor stadium where they have their ice hockey games or open to the public for ice skating on certain days. went to search for 2nd hand skates at their 2nd hand outlet which was supposed to operate from 6-730pm. however we waited for 30minutes in the drizzle and chilly winds with this other swede and our 2 korean friends. then somebody from the Lulea team turned up at the clubhouse(i think?) and the swede asked him about the shop. after a few words, ah kai left his email with the swede and he said he will email ah kai about further details. nice guy ehz? what happened next was even better! we went to the bus stop and discovered we have missed the bus and the swede drove by us and asked where we were heading to. to our surprise he offered us a lift and we squeezed into the car! 6 of us! the hospitality of the swedes!! really lucky because it was already 7pm and the rain was pouring by the time we got back.
13th: we had dinner with 4 spanish and a german! we prepared asam fish and they prepared spanish omelette and bread with tomato spread. quite a nice dinner! quiet atmosphere though, which is usually the case when we are eating with our european friends haha. there was this cute and good looking guy and he is an amateur DJ in spain! =) what impressed us was his fluent english and knowing french as well.
14th: a quiet day but happening night. we headed to this club called Cleo at 1030pm with the koreans and when we reached, it was so quiet ahah! hardly any souls around. the atmosphere certainly felt weird. to add to the misery, the student bar was only opened at 12am. so without any drinks and lousy music we sat around for quite some time before the crowd starting to trickle in. 1st late night out in sweden/lulea and i must say it's quite an experience for me as i got to see a different wild side to the normal life in the day. saw some of the exchange students there as well and one of them(a french) got friendly with us. blur~ took a cab back and the total expenditure is way cheaper than in sg lol.
15th: xiaomeng brought out his prima deli chicken rice package and we prepared a chicken rice meal! it was woosh!! the ginger paste, chilli, dark soya sauce, sesame oil for the chicken and good ol' chicken rice flavouring. that was kinda the highlight of the day for me. haha.
16th: yesterday we set off early for storheden once more! this time the objective was clear. to come back with as many packets of fish as possible! HAHA! we came back with 8! crazzzzzy! well our bus card only allowed us to take free trips till the 16th and to pay for the bus trip to storheden will be around close to 50kr to and fro. so we rather stock up than make repeated trips there hehe. saw this pair of running shoes(adidas) which is on sale at 300kr. tempted but decided against it as i did not have enough money on me and i did not want to bring an extra pair of shoes around! haha.
so onto another week we go~~
